A Brief History of Daybreak Community Church
Daybreak Community Church is a non-denominational church that began in September of 2006 with a group of ten people as a home Bible study. What we had in common was our love for God, a heart to reach the people of Battle Ground, North Clark County, and the world with the life changing message of Jesus Christ evidenced by acts of compassion and love. Since our start God has been truly faithful and we have seen many lives transformed simply by living out mercy and ministry in our community and around the world. We meet at Daybreak Schools in Battle Ground on Sunday mornings at 10:00AM. We look forward to meeting you and hope you will join together with us in our mission to live like Jesus.

Below is a summary of our beliefs. We hope you are encouraged in your faith as you read through this and look up the various Bible scriptures.
Bible

THE BIBLE
We believe that the Bible is God’s written Word. The Holy Scriptures are both infallible and inerrant in their original writings. The scriptures were verbally inspired, both Old and New Testaments. By this we understand that the Holy Spirit inspired the thoughts of the writer. The Bible is the final authority in all matters of faith and practice for the believer. Daybreak Community Church is committed to God’s Word as the standard and final authority in all that we say and do as a body of believers.
1 Corinthians 2:13
2 Peter 1:20-21
2 Timothy 3:16-17

GOD
We believe in a Triune Sovereign God. We believe He exists eternally in three persons: Everlasting Father, His only begotten Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. All three are eternal in being, identical in nature, equal in power and glory, and having precisely the same attributes and perfections.
Genesis 1:26
Deuteronomy 6:4
John 14:9
John 11
John 15-18

MAN'S CREATION AND FALL
We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God. Our first historical parents, Adam and Eve, sinned by rebelling against God’s revealed will, and thus became alienated from God (separated both physically and spiritually), acquired a sin nature, and came under the judicial sentence of death. All human beings are consequently born with a sinful nature that leads them to sin in thought, word, and deed.
Romans 3:10
Romans 23
Romans 6:23

THE PERSON AND WORK OF JESUS CHRIST
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became man, without ceasing to be God, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary in order that He might reveal God and redeem sinful mankind. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ accomplished our redemption through His death on the cross, as a substitutionary sacrifice, and that our redemption is made sure by His resurrection from the dead.
John 1:1-2
Luke 1:35
Romans 3:24-25
1 Peter 1:3-5

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is now in heaven, exalted at the right hand of God where, as High Priest of His people, He fulfills the ministry of Representative, Intercessor, and Advocate.
Hebrews 9:24
Hebrews 7:25
Romans 8:34
John 2:1-2

We believe in the blessed hope that Jesus Christ will soon return to this earth, personally, visibly, and unexpectedly, in power and great glory to gather His elect, to raise the dead, to judge the nations, and to bring His Kingdom to fulfillment.
John 14:2-3
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
Revelation 20:6

We are very committed to living wholeheartedly for Jesus Christ. To live is Christ, to die is gain.
Philippians 1:21.

As His disciples, we continually strive to keep the greatest of all commandments that is to love God with all of our heart, soul, and mind and to also love others as we love ourselves.

THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe that the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Godhead, in the present age indwells and gives life to all believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, baptizes them into the Body of Christ, and gives them gifts to serve in the body of Christ. The Holy Spirit enables disciples of Jesus to understand the Scriptures, empowers them for godly living, and equips them for service and to be witnesses for Him.
Romans 8:9
1 Corinthians 12:12-14
Ephesians 1:13-14
Ephesians 5:18-20

SALVATION
We believe that salvation is the free gift of God offered to man by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and that this faith is manifested in works pleasing to God.
Ephesians 2:8-10
Titus 2:11-14

We believe that all true believers, once saved, shall be kept forever.
Romans 8:1
Romans 38
Romans 39
John 10:27-30
1 Corinthians 1:4-8
Philippians 1:6
2 Timothy 1:12

We at Daybreak Community Church believe that we are saved by God’s grace and love. We also believe that genuine faith is proven by works in each believer’s life.
James 2

THE CHURCH
We believe that one, holy universal Church is the body of Christ. The Church is the spiritual organism made up of all born again persons in this age each having gifts to be exercised so that the body of Christ is built up and encouraged. The Church is God’s plan for reaching lost people and building His Kingdom.
Matthew 16:18-19
Acts 1:8
Ephesians 1:22-23
Ephesians 5:25-27
1 Corinthians 12:12-14
